Refund policy
At Alocasia Boutique, every plant is carefully selected, inspected and packaged to ensure it arrives safely. As we work with live, perishable products, our return and refund conditions are outlined below.
1. Returns
Due to the perishable nature of live plants, returns and exchanges are generally not possible.
In accordance with EU consumer law, perishable goods are exempt from the standard right of withdrawal.
Orders cannot be cancelled once shipped.
2. Damaged or DOA (Dead on Arrival)
If your plant arrives severely damaged or dead on arrival, you must contact us within 24 hours of delivery.
Your claim must include:
Clear photos of the plant
Photos of the packaging
An unboxing video (strongly recommended)
A description of the issue
You must notify us within 24 hours of confirmed delivery. Claims submitted after this timeframe may not be eligible for review.
Minor cosmetic imperfections (e.g., slight leaf creasing, minor transit stress) are not considered grounds for refund, as they do not affect plant health.
3. Conditions That Void Refund Eligibility
Refunds will not be issued in cases where:
The delivery address provided was incorrect
The package was not collected promptly
The parcel was delivered to lockers or exposed to extreme temperatures after delivery
Damage occurred due to improper handling after receipt
The plant shows normal transplant or acclimation stress
For all orders shipped outside Spain, the customer acknowledges and accepts that Standard Shipping is a low-priority, extended transit service which may take approximately 7–10 business days or more.
By selecting Standard Shipping, the customer accepts full responsibility for:
- Extended transit times
- Carrier delays
- Environmental stress on live plants during transport
- Any deterioration in plant condition related to prolonged shipping duration
Due to the nature of live plant shipments, we strongly recommend choosing an expedited shipping method whenever available.
We do not accept responsibility or liability for plants arriving in poor condition or as “Dead on Arrival (DOA)” when Standard Shipping has been selected for international orders outside Spain.
Refunds or replacements will not be issued in such cases, as the shipping method chosen does not meet the required conditions for safe transport of live plants.
4. Refund Decisions
Each case is assessed individually.
If a claim is approved, we may offer:
A partial refund
A replacement (if available)
Store credit
Refunds, when granted, are issued via the original payment method.
5. Corms, Cuttings & Rhizomes
Corms, stem cuttings and rhizomes are living propagation material. Natural variation in growth speed, sprouting time or variegation expression does not constitute a defect.
Refunds will only be considered if the propagation material is clearly rotten or non-viable upon arrival and properly documented within 24 hours. You must notify us within 24 hours of confirmed delivery. Claims submitted after this timeframe may not be eligible for review.
